We are well on our way to finally becoming homeowners.
The house inspection is on Friday. As long as there are no major surprises in the inspection, we should close mid June.
The house is in Lansing, just a few blocks from Ryan & Jess, and just a few more blocks more to Nick & Kelli's. We're so excited, nervous & nauseous, but excited!
Oh & hey, any suggestions for what color to paint the shutters? They're a dull gray now.

Lori it's just south of the Groesbeck area, we'll be about two blocks from Ryan & Jess! The houses there are really similar to your area. Yours was the next area we were going to look at, but we were trying to stay closer to 127 as our first choice (my husband works in Alma).
We're so excited to get back to Lansing.
ok, ok, ok.... how about... GREY! oh wait, they are grey. umm, seriously. forest green. brick red. midnight blue. all colors that can be seriously considered MUST have two descriptive words to be "real" colors. don't you think so? welcome home!!!
I like midnight blue, steel blue or navy.
I like Midnight Blue too, but more in the "song by Lou Gramm" way than the "hey let's paint the shutters" way. But that's just me. And I'm broken.
Lori, I totally agree that the color should have at least a two word descriptor, we could even one up that & go for three words...canned pea green, hey sailor navy, etc.
I think that I'm leaning toward a shade of green, maybe not as dark as forest, but asparagus maybe, a grayish green? I don't know, too many decisions to make right now.

i laughed out loud at "hey sailor navy." i needed that one today! when's the party? ooooo, you should have a shutter painting party. 'course then Jess will get drunk and start painting the sidewalk...

Lori, there will be a party & you're invited. I'm glad you enjoyed the sailor one, it cracked me up as I wrote it. I had some others, but they were just too gross.
