I am just floored by some of the email that is forwarded to me.
It's partly the content of the email itself, but mostly it's that someone is reading this email & thinks, "huh, I think I'll forward this to Amy (or Jeremy)".
Yesterday we received one that we've gotten before. It's falsely attributed to Andy Rooney & it is a long, bitter, racist, sexist, and downright nasty diatribe. The subject line was 'This is Great... Forward it'. Hopefully none of you have had someone send it to you, it is absolutely ridiculous.
Others that I get are in support of prayer in school, an end to affirmative action, a call to arms for anti-abortion activists, the proud to be an American screw-you-if-you-don't-agree war rants, etc. I don't get it.
Granted, none of these are from my friends. They're usually from my co-workers in other branches in the company I work for, or from Jeremy's co-workers. Every once in a while I get one from someone that I really like though.
Am I the only one who gets these? Is it that I don't articulate my stance on issues?
I guess if you don't know someone well, maybe you don't know where they stand, but if I don't know someone well, I don't forward crap to them.

Nope. I get them daily. And respond with words so scorching that the sender's butthole is left burning and they are rendered a weeping mess.
I'd say "give it a shot" but I'm not sure you have it in you.
I get them also. I probably miss some good emails because I don't waste my time anymore reading them. Especially from certain people. If it is a FWD email I just delete it without opening it. The other kind I hate are the hoax emails. I use to reply to all with info showing it is a hoax to keep it from being forwarded. But they keep showing up in my inbox.
Abby, I used to do that too, now I just delete them. It takes too much and energy to correct people.
Jess, I did reply to this last email, mostly because it was from someone I like!
Family...but family I like. ;)
You're right though, I don't think that anyone would consider my reply scathing...a mild correction maybe.
Anyhow, glad to hear it's not just me.
Go scathing or go home, I say.
P.S. TBagz.
Give 'em hell Amy!
My Uncle sends me Jesus mail almost every day....delete.
P.S. Said family (in-law) member was a bit miffed by my reply.
'And respond with words so scorching that the sender's butthole is left burning and they are rendered a weeping mess.'
Ah, so that explains it.
Jess is too funny. I got into a giagantic email fight with my youngest sister over one of those, talking about Muslims and Mexicans. *sigh* I apologize right now for my sister's racist beliefs...... I ALWAYS email back and say "don't send me this."
I think I'll take Lori's tact on this from now on. A simple "don't send me this" is probably best.
Of course Jess's scathing reply sounds like more fun, but.....
